Lucía Agüero

My name is Lucía Agüero and I am a lover of Spanish. My whole world revolves around it: the literature I choose to read and research, the writing I seek to develop and my profession: teaching language and literature to Argentines and foreigners.

Legados is a place for those who have an affective relationship with the Spanish language and Latin American culture. I am so happy to find, right on the other side of the continent, a place and a group of people with my same values and passions for this language that unites and embraces us.

Vera Cerqueiras

I am Vera Cerqueiras and I love what I do. I can not imagine my world without traveling, speaking, sharing. The magical thread that connects everything is Spanish. And now, Legados. Or could we have a better project than weaving meetings in the language we love with the future and the past of our personal and cultural history?

I have been doing this for 20 years, and now all these years found a channel in Montreal, on the shores of the Saint Laurent river. I have no doubt it will lead us to safe harbor.

Verónica Tapia

I am Veronica, Ecuadorian, and I have been living in Montreal for 12 years. I am a visual artist, illustrator and graphic designer. I fell in love at first sight with this project, because of its deep vision of the language in all its splendor and its interest in discovering roots and cultural heritage. Visual arts are an effective vehicle to promote this experience. I find the pedagogical dimension of art is fascinating, because it stimulates interest and promotes a more complete and creative vision. Sharing my knowledge and experience with you will be a pleasure!

Gabriela Moulouhi

Singer, singing and musical initiation Teacher.

In my artistic and teaching practice I dedicate myself to spread Latin American music and, more specifically, the Argentine one. Music has allowed me to share with my daughter, born in Canada, not only my language, but also my world and cultural baggage.

By singing and integrating movement and play, children create an emotional bond with the heritage culture and get excited discovering it. This is my proposal within the fabulous Legados framework.

Susana Cossíos

MA Hispanic Studies, option Literature. McGill University. Spanish Language Teacher, Concordia and McGill Universities.

Throughout my twenty years of teaching work in Montreal, I have met many students with a "Spanish heritage language". I have been able to note the pride of my students by feeling they are the heirs of a language and culture as rich as ours, but also being aware of certain gaps in their knowledge.

The creation of an institution like Legados represents a wonderful opportunity to fill those gaps and ensure that our children are -and continue to be- the proud representatives of the Hispanic world.

Ana-Ines Ansaldo

Post-doctoral studies at McGill University, CA. Associate Professor Faculty of Medicine, School of Orthophonists and Audiology. Montreal’s University Institute of Geriatrics Research Center.

I am a researcher in the language and cognition neurosciences field, as well as professor at the University of Montreal. Legados represents for me a place that allow us to share the language and culture in its multiple expressions, to grow as individuals, in the respect and appreciation of ourselves and of others. It is a fabulous gift that we can make to our children, grandchildren or grandparents, whatever their culture of origin.
