What did you read today?
Poetry is a bridge for intercultural dialogue | What did you read today? A poetry reading campaign will be unveiled to the public every weekend from April 4 to 23. A poem by a Spanish-speaking author of Latin American origin, translated into French and English, will be distributed as a bookmark.
In addition, a poetry-reading workshop will be offered on Tuesday, April 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Legados. An event for the whole family to enjoy.
Legados is very proud to present this campaign to promote reading for the month of April 2024, as part of World Book Day, knowing that Montreal is a city with a literary vocation, and that reading enables a host of activities: sharing, sowing, building and dialoguing. Reading poems will feed readers' imaginations, foster ethno-cultural integration and create a bridge for intercultural dialogue.
Pick up your free bookmark at one of the 75 distribution points and enjoy your poem of the day.
Distribution point: neighborhood cafés, bookstores, the Borough's network of libraries and cultural centers.
Closing evening Tuesday, April 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Legados.
This campaign is supported by major partners: the Government of Canada and the Caisse Desjardins du Plateau-Mont-Royal.
